The Wall Street Journal is demanding the Phoenix PD conduct an internal review and take action to ensure journalists’ rights are protected after one of its reporters was handcuffed and detained.

After a year of the Department of Justice's pattern or practice investigation, the Phoenix Police Department is getting new leadership, but the probe shows no signs of wrapping up.

@oldmeanroy @pk @drewharwell There’s no doubt that being a Police Officer is dangerous work, but, it’s like the Wild West, with the lack of oversight and accountability for bad actors. And maybe we should stop outfitting police departments like they’re going to war so they stop acting like we are enemy combatants to be destroyed. And let’s reform the Police Unions and their corruption/corrupt behavior while we’re at it.
