The House adjourns without a speaker for a second day with Republicans in turmoil. New members still aren't sworn in and House business is frozen. https://cnn.it/3ZeV8tC

@cnnbrk What happens if the House cannot break this impasse?

Are there any remedies?

@douglaswelch @cnnbrk Back in 1855-56 it took 133 votes over two months for them to pick, so I'd say buckle in for the ride at this point

@Malintent

I don’t think that is a viable choice in our time.

It is a tremendous national security risk to not have a functioning Congress, especially considering that the speaker is #3 in the line of succession.

@douglaswelch oh I totally agree, and it was disgusting watching the vote tonight to postpone until tomorrow. Totally irresponsible.
@douglaswelch @cnnbrk DOJ could do their job and haul all traitors in the coup caucus off to jail.
@cnnbrk I guess America was great in the 1800s? 🤷‍♂️ Sounds about in tune w/ the MAGAt values
@cnnbrk If house business is frozen, who ordered the metal detectors removed?
@cnnbrk leave it to the clusterfuck gop to stall everything
