Still haven’t gotten the hang of Mastodon. Very, very quiet out there. Let’s see if my 2023 post interactions fare better than last year’s. :)

UNCANNY MAGAZINE asked me to write a bit of a career memoir for their 50th issue. Instead, I wrote about human artists, AI-generated images, and the crossroads facing you, me, and all of us. (Cover art by Galen Dara!)

@JohnPicacio no algorithms to bubble up 'happening' stuff but you have groups like @bookstodon to help reach a large audience. Real engagement matters here more than attention seeking toots(which I love)
@arunsr1ni @bookstodon So what’s the appropriate way to share a post like this with @bookstodon? People seem more cliquish on Mastodon and quick to conflate sharing as self-promotion. So I’m not sure how to go about that.
@JohnPicacio it is a boost(RT in mastodon talk) bot and people who follow(kinda subscribe) it get to read your toot. Kinda pub-sub. Another thing about mastodon is that since it is decentralized, it is on the user to be decent/not spam etc. Bookstodon is about book/short story discussion, so since yours is published, go ahead and share it
@arunsr1ni I’ll give it a shot. Thanks, Arun.
