doing a dry january and hop water has really been great as a replacement special treat I only drink at night time.
@cliff is it good?? i’ve been wanting to try it. i’m doing a dry few months
@natty yes! it's not trying to be beer, it's something else. seltzer water with floral hop aromas. almost like tonic water but more subtle and no calories.
@cliff sounds like extremely my shit. i make floral essenced waters just by putting stuff in water with a filter straw, like chamomile and hibiscus and linden and chrysanthemum. actually!!!! as i’m typing this i realize i have unopened loose hops that i bought from the botanical store. does it have any other ingredients aside from hops? maybe i can recreate it. i have a sodastream (hand-me-down from parents lol fuck israel)
@natty I dunno how they steep them but carbonation is a necessity. Might be fun to make
@cliff ya i just made some sodastream water so that’s what it’s steeping in! i’ll let you know if it’s any good haha. hibiscus is really great to make into an essenced water because it steeps really fast, is really flavorful, turns the water deep red, and the loose flowers are big enough that you can use a regular straw instead of a filter straw. i buy all this shit in bulk. highly recommend. and if you have a sink disposal the dregs freshen it up when dumped down
@cliff it’s really good actually! the hops float at the top so i don’t even need a filter straw. if i make it in large quantities i’m going to grind them up and put some l-theanine and ashwagandha powder in a strainer bag and leave it in a carafe for a while. but a+ i recommend making your own and comparing
@natty @cliff hopping into this thread (pun intended) to recommend hoplark's sparkling hop teas. they're really delicious and can be found in many grocery stores now. there are a bunch of varieties that you can order directly from them. got me through last dry January.
@natty that's pretty cool
