But your post reminded me of an article I read about pumpkin toadlets and the vestibular system and balance (https://www.theatlantic.com/science/archive/2022/06/pumpkin-toadlet-frogs-uncontrolled-landing-jumps/661262/) and maybe it was trauma there from the ear mites.
