For #ThickTrunkTuesday, I'm posting a photo of moss-laden old growth trees that I took Sept. 2, 2022, at South Beach State Park, Oregon. We camped there with our 1986 Westfalia #Vanagon, in the campground south of the #Oregon Coast Aquarium in Newport.

@kathrynmathias Beautiful
@Grant_M We really enjoyed the trail to the dunes and the beach. This vegetation lined the trail on both sides.
@kathrynmathias Oregon is so nice. I used to make trips down there with my pals back when I lived in Vancouver in my early 20s :)
@Grant_M We did that regularly when younger and living in Surrey, BC - just above
Crescent Beach near Ocean Park. It was a quick trip down the coast. Still not too much driving (though of course more) from Calgary where we now live. We cross at Kingsgate and stop along the Columbia River the first night if it's getting dark, enroute to the coast.
@kathrynmathias That's cool! I'd certainly like to do it again someday :)
@Grant_M It IS cool. True confessions, I do get nervous when we're driving along the Columbia River if a high wind arises while on the steeper part of the route. Our Westfalia Vanagon is a high narrow box, not fun in high winds.
