People: “but I need this”
Open source: “It’s commercial and evil”
People: “It does things I need”
Open source: “Use this instead”
People: “It’s not accessible”
Open source: “Build your own then”
People: “I don’t have the time and knowledge to build my own. I will use the commercial, accessible, usable thing”
Open source: You’re using what you use because you hate freedom!

@akareilly @anneroth I would say, that is not the typical dialog in Open Source.
Here is an example how feature requests are normally handled:
