If a group of workers is 'too important to the national interest' to be allowed to strike, then logically they are in an industry too important to be allowed to be in the private sector. They should be run by the state on a not-for-profit basis with working conditions and pay commensurate with their importance.

But of course, the national interest is just a fig leaf, what they really mean is corporate profit.
