Twitter is being sued for not paying their rent

Be honest, is this the first time you have ever rooted for a landlord?

@flexghost
I had to Google to confirm. And yes, it seems Twitter has not paid its rent. Hilarious. I would like Twitter to exist but certainly not under current ownership.

Doesn't pay its staff and sacks them. Being sued.

Doesn't pay its rent. Being sued.

Doesn't pay software companies for their contracts. Being sued.

Doesn't pay for executive plane rentals. Being sued.

Common denominator? All happened since Elon Musk took over. Like Donald Trump, the man does not pay his bills. #TwitterSued

Oh. And Twitter employees are reportedly bring their own toilet paper to work.

@WendyMsGator @flexghost Well, yes. Elon is an evil, fascist, narcissistic Scrooge. At this point, he’s trying to kill it. What I find odd is that when he “changed his mind” and tried to back out of buying it, the Twitter Board forced him to go through with the sale by suing him. Now he has a bunch of Saudi investors. Why didn’t they just let him back out? It should NEVER have been a private company.

@claudiamiles @WendyMsGator @flexghost my understanding is that Twitter was in a pretty bad financial state before Musk, but they were making just enough money to keep momentum. Musk trying to back out was hurting their stock prices and spooking advertisers. They wanted to force Musk to buy so they can exit with some money because they knew the company was going to fail eventually.

Musk just made everything as bad as possible because he's an idiot.

It was in bad shape, financially. But Elon had done scary, shady things & was promising to do more. Making a deal with the devil, taking the money and running, wasn’t the answer. Twitter wasn’t just some company. It served an important function in informing & uniting people everywhere to fight for justice. And it isn’t just Elon: he has taken on Saudi investors who are truly evil, not idiots. And they have an agenda.

@claudiamiles @WendyMsGator @flexghost as much as I enjoy a good conspiracy, I find the idea of some external actor using Musk to destroy Twitter to be just a little far fetched. The whole situation reads as Musk thinking he's infallible and severely missing the mark.

Tesla and SpaceX are run by the managers who have placed themselves between Musk and the company. Those are the first people he got rid of at Twitter. I think this is a legitimate failure

Forbes, a legit publication, reported that there are multiple Saudi investors (& others, too.) Musk did not use all his own funds to purchase Twitter. And there are many news stories saying they have an agreement w/Musk to obtain subscribers info in exchange currently being investigated by the DOJ.

Saudi Prince Alwaleed Becomes Twitter’s Second Largest Shareholder

After flip-flopping on his support of Elon Musk’s bid for the social media company, the royal confirmed he followed through with his $1.9 billion equity commitment to the social media company’s new owner.

There is enormous concern by some in Congress about Musk’s Saudi partners and information they are reportedly mining. (Below from CNBC Nov. 1, 2022)

Call me sensitive but when I see the Saudi royals being feted all over the world, knowing what we do about Jamal Khashoggi, my bile rises. I do not wish them long and happy lives.
