When I learned that one of my typeface was used by others to produce an imitation, I felt the same as what @SarahCAndersen explains. It is extremely violent to see others use unique traits of my personality that appear in my letter shapes, in their production even without AI.

@jfporchez standardised handwriting was invented to limit styles and make everyone write the same so they could be used to document things in business and during war time. My father took a course in NYC and received the Palmer Method of Business Writing certificate by AN Palmer. While my mother learnt to type and became one of the first IBM key punch operators. Marion Richardson; an English art teacher, not a calligrapher or type designer invented the idea of individuality in writing.
