@InkstainedFingers This was taken in Perth, Western Australia - they migrate to southern Australia in summer to breed and spend the winter further north. I'm pretty sure they're present in Africa as well.
@tessa_murray Lots of species of bee-eaters in Africa to the best of my knowledge and according to ornithologist friends of mine who've been there. @InkstainedFingers I'm completely wrong (and should have checked). Rainbow bee eaters confined to Australia and the islands to the north (including Indonesia and Papua New Guinea). Several other species in Africa though.
@tessa_murray It would be greedy of Africa - with its 20 marvels - to also take our one and only bee-eater species. Some of those African bee-eaters are just magnificent. No, not some... all.
