The fact is, 33% of this country would let Hershel Walker do brain surgery on their kin. The longer we wait to push back on this MAGA cult of anti-government, anti-Enlightenment, anti-science, and antisocial ignorance and malice, the harder it will be to ever prevail over it. We need to start somewhere, and fanciful notions of salvation coming from fairness doctrines, rank-choice-voting, or other silver bullets are just pissing up the rope. We need something immediate, noisy, and effective.
