This would make so much sense here in Australia, it would provide shade in the heat and simultaneously produce power. But I doubt that this is viable for businesses, given the huge parking lots around shopping centres combined with the meagre feed-in tariffs you get in this country.

@Chittopher Imagine though that the supermarket has free electricity plus other shops around, and maybe free car-charging points, maybe a laundrette, or bakery ...and it starts to look much more like only minimal amounts need be sold back to the grid.
