I just saw this article about UK heritage sites and #museums closing: https://www.theguardian.com/culture/2022/dec/31/uk-castles-museums-theatres-close-energy-prices?CMP=share_btn_tw

I'm not in the UK, but this still saddens me deeply. I know that energy costs are making life hard for everyone, and losing these cultural heritage sites is one more blow. Regions' own cultural histories are treasures. I admit that my love of #castles is coming into play here, but other aspects too that help people today better understand the past and how we reached today are so important.

‘It’s very tough’: UK castles, museums, theatres to close as energy prices hit

Rising costs have led to staff redundancies and curtailed opening hours as nine out of 10 sites fear they could close permanently

@dianemagras We're losing so much. The whole country is coming apart at the seams.
@PGBellWriter It's heartbreaking. I see it happening in so many ways. I hope that somehow things will come back together before it's too late.
