In 2022 I hit one of “those” birthdays; this one completely messed with my head. For reasons that no longer seem at all logical, I decided to read a book published each year I’ve been alive. This is the result. Some years have more than one book read (before you just add up the number of covers and come to the wrong answer).

@Helen50 @bookstodon This is brilliant!! I am going to do this. Maybe I’ll start now and finish by my next one of ‘those’ birthdays in a few years.
@PortCityAnna I will admit to a mad panic to finish the last 2, one audiobook, one physical book to get it done in the year!
Mad idea, but kind of fun. Just glad I'm not older!!

Can you clear something up for me.l? Did you read one book that was published during each year you've been alive, i.e., one published in 1970, one from 1971 and so on or; one book for each year you've been alive eg., 45 total books?
@mzmazz I was born in 1972, so I read a book first published in 1972, a book first published in 1973, etc etc etc.
there are more than 50 because I if I read more than one book published in a year, I included them as well.
@Helen50 @bookstodon I'm interested in reading a book published for every year I've been alive. How did you go about finding your books and the genre?
@CatEyeJayne
A mixture - books I had on myself (either read or to read) it was a case of check the copyright date. For translated fiction I allowed myself either the original date or the translation date.
I used the 1001 books to read before you die list, as that gives publication dates.
Beyond that I used www.librarything.com and good ole google for filling in years. I didn't select specifically by genre, I read what came up, really!
Good luck!
