Sitting near a Tesla that looks like someone keyed it. Driving an electric MAGA hat seems to be becoming more of a liability.
Update: They have small kids, so maybe the kids did it? Let’s hope so, otherwise this is a bad escalation of the culture wars.

@mathew Maybe (probably) I'm too naïvely optimistic, but I'd have thought that most people would understand that a thing is only a MAGA hat if it's bought with the intention of showing off one's MAGAtry.

If someone has a Tesla right now, they probably bought it at a time when Musk was at least pretending to be a decent person with (possibly silly but sincere) ambitions to safeguard the future of humanity.

No one last year was buying a Tesla to "own the libs." Maybe now, but not then.

@gjm Yeah. My brother has a Tesla, bought before Elon went publicly hard right.

I really wonder what their sales figures are like. Apparently the Tesla Y was the biggest selling car in Europe this year, but that might all have happened before October.

Mind you, a passing grackle just put a large deposit on a Tesla…

@mathew

How can you be sure it didn't look like that from the factory 😂
