Rachel Siegel@douglasvb BeaverCON 2022 ended up being postponed from March to June because of the Omicron variant. Mike and Scott McGill of Ecotone were determined to meet in person because of the camaraderie and relationship building that can only come from an in-person event. I met so many #beaver advocates including superstar Dr. Emily Fairfax, who is researching how beavers help mitigate the effects of #wildfire, including providing refugia for #wildlife and seed banks to reseed landscapes after fire.
Elizabeth Sudduth@rachelschicksiegel @douglasvb BeaverCON 2020 was the last in person conference I attended. It was an amazing experience, while also surreal as we were aware of COVID but had no idea what was coming.
@hydropsyche @douglasvb Going to #Beavercon 2022 was a little surreal as well--first event I had attended since the pandemic began. And I had to fly straight from Baltimore to Vermont for my niece's bat mitzvah, so I had two suitcases--one full of flannel and beaver t-shirts, and one with synagogue clothing!
