@b4tech One issue I've noticed is that churches that want to offer live simultaneous interpreting for people who speak different languages don't really have an open source solution and so face high commercial fees, just for the platform or equipment. I have no programming skills but would love to see the fediverse take that on.
@multilingualchurch Hi! That's very interesting. I've never thought about that because I don't really face that issue in Portugal where I'm living. Most of our immigrants are from portuguese speaking countries.
@b4tech It's defiantly a thing and sometimes, it's not even about migration, such as when there are multilingual countries. The existing software is good (apart from not having movable sub-windows, peak volume limiting and an option to deliberately not send video when Internet speeds are slower) but expensive, even if they are still (usually) cheaper and easier than traditional equipment.
