Another random post: I've been thinking how my view on journalists has changed recently.
The thing that bothers me the most is how SOME journalists assume that what they assume is what most liberal people also assume to be true. Things like..."Dave Chappelle is awful ALL THE TIME" and "People in California or New York are smarter than people in Montana or Wyoming." It's these assumptions by Vox or Huff Post reporters that drive me bonkers! Even when I dig their writing 90 percent of the time.
My point here is just that I don't think it's fair to put people in a box and assume you know everything about them without recognizing that they're allowed to think differently about some things while still being on your side most of the time. This "All-or-Nothing" approach to journalism is annoying at best and harmful at worst.
@callmejake it drives away allies and makes everyone an enemy
@PoppaCapp yeah it does. I know some of my views aren't always on board with some of my friends' views but we still get along and discuss things and work together well regardless. That's being a human. Rejecting someone outright because they don't think Kevin Hart should be canceled, for instance, is weird to me!
@callmejake also rejecting everyone that isn't a true Scotsman creates silos and echo chambers which stunts personal growth and forces ugly opinions to join up with each other become more cancerous and dangerous
