I’m not exactly teetering on the cutting edge of cultural media - I prefer to wait until after all the PR brouhaha on something has died down before I consume - but damn if Netflix’s adaptation of @neilhimself ‘s #sandman novels isn’t flipping amazing, then I don’t know what is. The ‘cereal’ killer convention is perfect. It’s all great: casting, FX, pacing, look. Just brill. Hearty slaps on backs all round. It’s as good as hot, buttery toast.
@Wild @neilhimself Finally started watching last night. I had VERY high expectations, yet somehow it’s completely exceeded them. 🖤
@Wild @neilhimself I really enjoyed the production and found a number of casting choices inspired.
@Wild @neilhimself I love it when filmmakers can actually take you to another world like that. I enjoyed it, too.
@Wild @neilhimself 100%. A very strong cast,Tom Sturridge is mesmerizing.
@Wild @neilhimself Agreed. It is a great production of the story.
@Wild @neilhimself Yep, #sandman is awesome! Loved every minute of it.
@Wild @neilhimself I got a lot of amusement out of watching the seemingly all-powerful Sandman flounder around trying to repair his damaged realm. Great show.

It's a very well made show it's like watching performance art. There are a few others that remind me of that; "Legion" and "Doom Patrol." It's amazing that shows like this are allowed to be themselves. I know it can't be that simple, but why not let the creators be free?
@neilhimself @mematron I imagine it’s something to do with money. When you’re sinking a reported $15million into each episode, investors are going to want an element of control over their investment. One can only imagine the machinations behind the scenes in order for it to remain largely sympathetic to the source material. The fact that it largely does so is very impressive.
