A recently released convict did actually murder the Mayor of Gdansk in 2019, after watching similarly hateful propaganda on state television while in prison. So this is more than just a theoretical possibility.
State television, to repeat, is controlled directly by the ruling party and funded through the tax system. It's as if the BBC were showing pictures of the Labour party leader with a bullseye on his chest.
Donald Tusk has now asked for police protection after repeatedly receiving death threats to himself and his family
@anneapplebaum If only that one issue were just the one isolated case. There hasn’t been an edition of TVP nightly news over the past 8 years that did not contain politically motivated news pieces. From the moment they won, they turned the 2 billion PLN annual TVP budget into a political campaign which doesn’t ever really stop. How would one even start solving this problem?
