In the theater where I first saw the Kinsey Sicks in Motel Sicks in the *90s* to see Oy Vey in a Manger with my 17.5 yo daughter, Lilly, Roni and Vicki (who officiated our wedding Samhain 2009.
Can’t wait to get Lilly a shirt to wear at her high school.
In Phoenix.
Ain’t I a stinker?

Omg by sheer dumb luck tonight’s concert was attended by one of the founding members, Irwin Keller! He retired from the group in 2014.
And I was today years old when I learned the Sicks have a wiki page… and I just realized my wife and I are subject matter experts. Huh.

@yohannon Tucked away somewhere I have the postcard ad for Oy Vey... :) Saw them in S.F. Such talent!
@jarocats my wife Roni is an honest to goddess superfan… she was even at the Bette Midler concert in 1993 when the four original members went dressed as the Andrew Sisters, thinking that it was Bette in SF… only to discover they were the only ones to show up in drag. Even funnier… none of them knew how to sing.
She saw them busking in the Castro (where she lived at the time) and their first paying gigs at Josie’s Juice Joint.. and even hired them for a birthday party for $250.
@jarocats I was reminded on the trip home; you can hear us cheering them on several of their albums, some of which included the train wrecks where bits just riffed out of control. There are few things in my life that made me laugh so hard I thought I would pass out… I swear you can hear those gasps during those out of control moments.
All jokes aside she’s fortunate to have a fairly liberal HS, but we both know some asshole will try to complain about the tee. Her family has her back on that one.
