"he must be quite the marxist."
Is that you being ironic?
Or just stupid?
Hard to tell...

Because to be a joke, something has to be funny, and there was literally nothing about that post that said "joke".
Maybe it was in *in* joke, but the fact that it was lost on several of us tells you it failed in its wider job.
@keithreeder @undeuxtrois @incurablehippie maybe you don’t know what it mean to be "owned" in this context, but it is a well understood meaning, i think, and it was in public, so he was "publicly owned", which is a very socialist thing to be, if you take it in the other meaning of "owned", and of course, the guy is not a marxist at all, which is why it’s a joke.
You didn’t get it, no problem, but don’t blame others for the joke you didn’t get.
@tshirtman @undeuxtrois @incurablehippie
Of course I know what "owned" means: but the fact is that your sentence can easily stand in its own right as an ill-advised and uninformed pseudo-political comment.
If a "joke" doesn't land, it's on the teller, not the hearer - *good* jokes never need to be explained.
@keithreeder @undeuxtrois @incurablehippie dozens of people favorited the post, and like 2 including you, weren’t sure of the meaning, so i think it landed pretty well.
good day to you..
@tshirtman @undeuxtrois @incurablehippie
Yeah, that's how you can tell...
