DOH sees no need yet to restrict arrivals from China as COVID cases surge - Philippine Star

DOH is cautious, I think. For my fellow #Filipinos who think that we should ban trips from China, that might be reasonable, sure.

But, why single out China? If we are going for travel restrictions, ban flights from all other countries with Covid, including the US.

Even if we close down our borders now, it will already be too late.

Well tge population of china is 1.4 billion ppl, and they are peaking now us is not that alarming , bcse peak with so many ppl might mean à variant more dangerous.

@legj679 Yeah. But here is the variant soup in the US. Unmitigated spread in both US and China or any other country, even the Philippines can result in a more dangerous variant.

Again, the point is unmitigated spread does not just happen in China but in almost everywhere.

Just 1.4 billion ppl makes it 4 times more Lively to happen than in the us , pkys in the history (plague etc) you always quarantine ppl from country with épidémies at the peak
