5 Upcoming Code Editors that May Challenge the Supremacy of Visual Studio Code

Interesting code editors that might replace Visual Studio Code for you in 2023!

It's FOSS News
@itsfoss Eclipse ? I believe it is open source, or is it not ?

@shaunakhub

#Eclipse is more of a slow Java IDE than anything else.

@vintprox @shaunakhub I think you can use it for other stuff as well, but I wouldn't really try it. Honestly at this point Eclipse needs a huge overhaul to get it on par with modern IDEs
@shaunakhub It's also more about "upcoming code editors". If you're aware of anything new that we missed, feel free to suggest :)
@itsfoss you need to fix your wording on pulsar. We're a fork that all we've done is update dependencies, change the build scripts and reverse engineer the backend since it was never made open source. Otherwise it's the same code base and everything. All of the major code is largely the same so far....
@kaosine Alright, thanks for the heads up. We didn't find the same info on the GitHub page or the official website.

@itsfoss yea a few of us working on the documentation since the start have had to taken hiatuses because of health issues right after we finished archival and initial implementation of the website and other stuff.

Especially myself due to residual neck/head issues. It's been a wild ride since the sunset announcement that's for sure....

@kaosine Wish you speedy recovery and all the best for anything you have planned so far.

We'd love to take a look at anything new you guys work on (if at all), just DM us here!

@itsfoss As much as I do hate to say it, Microsoft has done a great job with VS Code. A lot of the projects listed in this article are still pre-alpha/alpha yet, but I’ll certainly keep an eye on them.
