@amy I think it's a piece of rosewood burl, but i'm not totally sure. A friend gave me like 300 pounds of assorted woods that her dad had collected, and none of it was labeled
@MLE_online that makes a lot more sense! i was like… it doesn’t look like tiger oak but what else could it be? rosewood didn’t occur to me bc it’s so rare now / illegal to harvest for so long. the tone is sure right

@amy A gift and a curse, lol. I had no place to keep 300 pounds of wood, but I couldn't turn it down, so I had to ask a friend if I could keep it in his garage, where most of it still is to this day
