If I have to see that damn novel about the LastPass breach again I _will_ cut someone. @infosec.exchange’s 11,000 character limit is one of the reasons I’m not there, dammit

Okay, the first Mastodon client that adds filtering for previously-viewed reposts will receive my eternal appreciation.

I actually really like the 280 char + thread format bc it forces people to actually make a damn point every 280 char. The majority of people write like shit if given an infinite text box; this forces ppl to reread and edit themselves for brevity before posting
Maybe we need to punish people by sending them to @oulipo.social (where no one can use the letter E)
I promise my reviews of my coworkers’ reports are much kinder than this
Believe it or not, I have a limit to being mean and I cannot bring myself to be mean to @fincham. To which he’s probably like, “wait she’s being nice?”
@so I feel like the 500-character default is a good compromise, for Mastodon. It’s a bit more space than Twitter, but without making every toot a blog post.
@sindarina I’ve just started aggressively muting/blocking people if i skim and don’t see them making a goddamn point in a ~500 char toot. YOU DO NOT DESERVE WORDS
@so Is that why you never like any of mine? 😏
