But isn't cropping an image like that a manipulative clickbait tactic? Cropping an image this way is purposeful, to urge us to click the image to see the whole thing.

I feel like this is the kind of thing I came to Mastodon to avoid. This platform is specifically structured so that there is no incentive to do things like that - we want to gravitate toward content organically, not because our monkey-brains were poked to.

Saying something because I'd like to see this kind of thing vocally discouraged by the community.
