my current take is that business today is like science in the age of alchemy: people mixing things together going "look, phosphorus!", crediting success to their brilliant identification of universal truths and the failures to vagaries of the gods.
@rohit so, what's the solution? Are the social sciences to work like physics?
@tg9541 doubt it, even modern physics doesn't work like physics. I assume a different paradigm, perhaps like ecological constraints
@rohit in my understanding the social is ecology, i.e., the design of any kind of economic system is the result of an evolutionary process. There is even a parallel between the economy of science and the saturation of the corresponding "market of ideas".
