Thoughts after reading 83 #romance novels in 100 days:
(in no particular order)

1. Consent is sexy
The steamiest scene I read was incredible and the MCs *didn’t even touch each other* - it was allll about getting and maintaining consent

2. Tropes help set (or subvert) expectations
The moment it’s clear there’s only one bed (or insert your favorite trope here), the reader is ready to fit the story into a template. That can build tension or create humor. It’s not just “lazy” writing

@belehaa wow 83 books in 100 days!!

Which is the book you’re referring to?

@heydebigale I figured out how to borrow ebooks from my library in September and it basically replaced the time I’d spent browsing Twitter, plus I read more in the margins of my day now, so I’ve been reading about a book a day since

My goal for this year was 24 books. For the past few years I’ve read 1-2 dozen books in the whole year. This year I might reach 120 (current count is 114)

@belehaa that’s awesome!!

Libby is probably my most-used app on my phone!

I usually read about 2 full-length books and one novella each week.

I’m at about 140 books this year 🥰
