With 2022 99% complete it’s a good time to look at the overall picture of the electricity system transformation in Britain, going back ten years. 10 years ago demand was higher (pre efficiency measures) and that high generation was dominated by coal. Gas and nuclear made up the rest. Wind was a tiny proportion. A decade of change has seen coal diminish to around 1.5%, displaced first by gas and now increasingly by wind, which is now around 23% overall. Demand itself has levelled in spite of EVs.

2) There's also a reduction by ~40 TWh: Much of it is improvement of efficiency.
