Judge Thompson just ordered Kari Lake to pay Governor-elect Katie Hobbs $33,040.50 plus 7.5% interest until paid in full for expert witness testimony, but did *not* sanction Kari Lake or her attorneys. https://www.clerkofcourt.maricopa.gov/home/showpublisheddocument/4567
@MeidasTouch I can't believe the court found the claims were not groundless and brought in bad faith. Kari Lake was looking for excuses even before the election. How can any of the cases she's brought against Maricopa county or Katie Hobbs not in bad faith? You know the Lake supporters will be having another party! Those whack-a-doodles will take it as another win, of course.
@MeidasTouch it makes no damn sense why they weren't sanctioned.

Another don't-upset-the-fascist moment?

@rgulick @Love_or_Fear @MeidasTouch β€œIf you sanction us for questioning the election, no matter how absurd our case, people Won’t Trust Elections(tm)”.

Unreal.

@MeidasTouch More evidence, as if we needed any, of just how fucked up our system of justice is here in the US.
@MeidasTouch Cha Ching. Hit her where her purse strings are. πŸ˜‚ Good! She deserves it! CONSEQUENCES!
@MeidasTouch πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
@MeidasTouch I’m actually surprised that justice has prevailed in Arizona. But I am extremely happy 😊
@MeidasTouch why no sanctions? christ.
@MeidasTouch wtf is wrong with the Justice systems???
@MeidasTouch The only deterrent is consequences. They must be swift, just and significant ... lengthy incarceration, hefty financial fines, public humiliation.

@MeidasTouch

The local news last night quoted the judge saying one of the reasons he didn't grand Katie Hobbs the full court costs and sanction Lake was that he didn't want an appeal delaying Hobbs taking office. She's appealing anyway. Nice job judge. There needs to be real consequences for these election deniers or it will never stop.
