Various forms of dogs, allegedly, according to the toybox 3D printer, the most frustrating and also expensive gift in the ever-loving world.
@zadrozny Various Forms of Dogs new band name I call it
@zadrozny i was seriously considering getting one for my way better half, but didn't.
@zadrozny Welcome to 3D printing. Steep curve but then it's all good.

@ringslinger @zadrozny the toybox is supposed to skip the steep learning curve, at least for the beginning. That's their whole pitch for why you'd get their instead of a Creality or something.

The prints should look decent without much effort

@thresholdshift @zadrozny

Poor reading on my part. I didn't see it was the toybox. Yea, that's not as advertised.

@ringslinger wish someone had made that clear on a toy marketed to small children

@zadrozny For sure. that's really deceptive. I've never seen anything at that price point that is plug and play like that.

Sorry, that you're having a hard time. It can be a lot of fun once it's up and working.

Good luck.

@zadrozny - knowingly underplaying a high failure rate would constitute a deceptive business practice. have other folks been having this too?
@zadrozny I don't have that printer, but with mine, I have the best luck slowing the print speed down... using fresh (dry) filament... and adjusting the temperature up or down depending on the alignment of the stars.
@EarthlingNathan I hate it very much and am probably sending it back :(

@zadrozny :(

Videos I found involve calibrating it with an allen wrench... and printing test prints/dots to ensure the platform is level and the hot filament is sticking. Also... they call the filament "food"?! My guess is the filament absorbed moisture, and/or the bed is not properly aligned, or the temp was too hot or cold.

Somebody might enjoy making it work, but it certainly isn't everyone's cup of tea. Also, better printers exist with self-leveling/heated beds. Best luck in the future!

@EarthlingNathan I mean, if I knew what I was in for, I would have probably bought a more expensive printer and put in the work -- Likely what I'll end up doing after I take this thing back. I should have done more research but thought it would be easy!
