@spellacy I'd like to point out that as bad as they are in many practical ways for disabled users, they also violate a core tenet of inclusive design - equitable use. Users with disabilities should never be segregated into a different experience from other users but should find the primary experience usable. Having an overlay fosters the mindset of having a website for the abled distinct from that used by those with disabilitiies.
