Why am I seeing right wing conspiracy theory posts on "Home" column from one user I don't follow, who isn't being boosted by anyone I follow?
Actually I'm seeing a few people who I'm not following and who aren't being boosted. Just that one was obvious spam. Can someone else how the "Home" column works, why it's showing randoms?

Currently most recent 20 posts on my Home feed. Half are by randoms I don't know why they're showing up on my Home feed. And that's after I blocked the conspiracy guy.

I think I might have it figured out. I accidentally followed the #Twitter hashtag.
@0x1ac it probably shows on the top most recent of what people you follow are doing.
@advait11 I don't understand. There posts appear to have nothing to do with people I follow. I don't think this was happening yesterday.
@0x1ac but if you know how twitter works if I retweet your post it will be shown to every followers of mine as well while they have no idea who you are. It's like that

@advait11 That's called "boosting" here. I said they're not people being boosted.

I just checked the top 20 posts on "Home". 8 are posts by people I follow. 2 are "boosted" by people I follow and 10 are complete random people that shouldn't be on my feed.

I know Twitter did this thing were they add random stuff on trending topics, but Mastodon shouldn't be doing that.

@0x1ac yeah you're right. But maybe there's no other way to connect with people other than showing random posts from people. I agree your point though.
@advait11 This wasn't happening yesterday though. Something changed and I think it's a bug.
