Actually a religion is made to find answers to the inexplicable, the magic, a way of life, the meaning of life. With religion cames habits and coutumes, celebrations (just see solstice pagan celebrations)... But also extremism wich open the door to hate, opression, etc.

Are all muslims bad ? Not, but just extremisms... The same for all religions and train of thought all around the world.

By said "religion is bad" or "religion is designed to opress" or "religion is patriarcal" you are extremist in you thought because those sentences are the same as "All religions are bad" or "All Jewish/Muslims/Catholics(...) Are bad" but not...

But as human you can open your mind and see the real problem is not religion but a few minority extremist which indoctrinate "weak minded" others who are no really bad at the begining

I thing religion is the same as politic is a certain way

Politic CAN be good for society but fascism (a little part of politic movments) is bad

Religion CAN be good for humanity but extremism (a little part of religion aspects) s bad
