A recent study on excess deaths related to the COVID-19 pandemic found that nearly 15 million people died globally in 2020 and 2021, an unprecedented loss of human life in recent modern history.

@PaulStewartII Given what we know about viruses and public health, it is disturbing to see how capitalism and its values have caused the world to ignore that in pursuit of profits for the companies. It seems we’ve learned nothing about how the common good actually creates a healthier society for all.

@TheStormcrow @PaulStewartII I’d argue it’s those with power who choose financial gain over the common good. We without power have not figured out how to stop them effectively.
