One of the things I like about Mastodon - so far - is that interactions feel more personal, when I'm responding to a person as opposed to responding *for* an audience watching my interactions with someone else. It's a different pace and vibe that's definitely a welcome adjustment in my online interactions

Yeah, I can see that for sure.

It's also a bit less muttering-into-the-void-y for those of us who were too far beneath notice to have an audience to perform for... Not sure how long that'll last, but it's nice.
