Do you think the Republicans with working brains will vote for legislation that benefits their constituents, thereby forgoing what McCarthy wants them to do, which is to NOT vote with the Dems on legislation? Or are there not enough of them to override the GOP thin majority in the House?

@BillMcGuire @StevenBeschloss The problem is the Hasert Rule - it will block legislation being taken up by the House, so “moderate” Repubs won’t have a chance to peel off. The exceptions are the annual bills that simply must be taken up. And then all the work will be on amendments and in Conference with the Senate.

Otherwise, the House is going to be a graveyard for legislation for 2 years.
