Before i pop a Xanax and get ready for Christmas Eve with my family, here’s a gentle PSA:
There is no wrong way to Mastodon. This isn’t the Blue Bird of Hostility app. Being kind to new users helps further the community. Starting out with telling people what they should and shouldn’t do is tacky and rude. Welcome people into the fold. Help them out. Be kind-we’ve all started over at one point or another.
