Dumb question for masto admins!!!

So I bought teefed.net again and I'm gonna try to turn it into a mastodon server.

I just gotta figure out if I can do like masto.teefed.net and still have usernames be like [email protected] or is that not possible?

@Firr You can use "LOCAL_DOMAIN" and "WEB_DOMAIN" for that. https://docs.joinmastodon.org/admin/config/#local_domain
Configuring your environment - Mastodon documentation

Setting environment variables for your Mastodon installation.

@RedstoneLP2 how the heck did I miss this? Thank u!!!!
@Firr tbh i almost missed that as well when setting up mine
@RedstoneLP2 @Firr do note that because this is all Webfinger-based, you need to redirect a few things under .well-known on your LOCAL_DOMAIN to your WEB_DOMAIN - which I personally find slightly less clean than an SRV record or something, but whatever.
@Firr You can do that, yes, but it will require you setting up some redirects for the .well-known directories and honestly, it causes more problems that weren't worth it to me. Certain other apps couldn't find my account, that sort of thing.
@Firr ive seen it done before, i think @blfc did it with their instance
@Firr
hey just a small tip if you want people to be able to find your stuff easier you can use hashtags as there's no algorithm
@Firr yes, you can separate them when you setup your instance
