I always wanted a Dumb Terminal... Now I'm tempted in buying a Videotex terminal, but I need your help because I have to choose.

1) French Minitel, 25€, ugly, dirty, but 100% hackable (it has exposed serial port) @vga256

2) Catalan/French Bull Micral Telesincro, 30€, very nice, has a printer on it😱 *but* doesn't have exposed serial port, only modem. Unknown hackability level and no information on the Internet.

@andreu Hahaha well, I can't make any solid recommendations since I don't own either of those but: the minitel at least has a real keyboard. That membrane keyboard on the Bull will be a misery to type on.

One thing I love about the Minitel is the extensive community that exists for support and hacking!

@vga256 thanks for you opinion! Yes, Minitel has a great french community. But that Bull would be a great hacking challenge... 🧐

@andreu @vga256 FWIW Minitel is quite fun to have and play with :) Minitel 2 especially as 9600 baud - think the previous were 2400 baud. I wouldn't have the skills for the other system :)
