Sending my love and appreciation out to the workers who are keeping the power on, the internet connected, the roads safe, and the water flowing on a night so hideously cold and windy that I can’t even imagine what you’re dealing with right now. Stay safe, even if that means people are inconvenienced. We appreciate you.

Paul Riggs@couts I spent almost 4 decades in broadcast TV news. That means I worked a lot of holidays. I eventually learned that Christmas was one of the better holidays to draw for working. Expectations were very low, almost everybody you meet is in the same boat or feels very sorry for you and tries to feed you. I was almost force-fed some wonderful Korean dumplings one Christmas and then she insisted I take some with me. They were pure ambrosia of some rare porcine nature.
