@13wiser to be fair, metrics like that are valuable to advertisers/brands who wish to maximize exposure per the amount of time spent creating it... though I could also see that being a feature and not a bug over here.

... either way, as someone who is in charge of a small brand, I'm done with the birdsite now.

@ottergoose yup, it's logical as a metric for business I agree. Doesn't add much value for the end user consuming the content by being part of the UI though imo. And I say this as someone who loves analytics and stats.

I'm sure I would be much less critical of this decision if it wasn't layered on top of so many other deliberately hostile moves impacting both users and advertisers. Excited to see how marketing develops on #Msatodon and the #Fediverse
