(3/3) Perhaps some people would like to see the strings come together in this article that I wrote last April: it’s about Ottawa, Chateau Laurier, the Titanic, Churchill, and I believe I mentioned Karsh too, who stayed or even lived in Chateau Laurier.

@Alex_Verbeek Karsh did indeed live at the Château. In the reading lounge, there is a bunch of Karsh portraits there including George Bernard Shaw and Georgia O’Keeffe. Maria Tippett wrote a pretty good biography of Karsh worth tracking down. Also, somebody apparently stole the famous Churchill portrait for there recently! https://ottawa.ctvnews.ca/churchill-portrait-stolen-from-chateau-laurier-8-months-ago-hotel-officials-1.6038897
Churchill portrait stolen from Chateau Laurier 8 months ago: hotel officials

@Alex_Verbeek "Capturing the capturer" -- photographers in front of the camera, rather than behind, are few and far between. Not sure I know of any other statues of photographers.

Thanks for these.

@RichStein there is the Daguerre statue in DC
@Alex_Verbeek I will have to look for it on my next trip to DC. Did not know. Thanks!
