So I just joined the Post waiting list out of curiosity. I suspect Mastodon is more my speed. But the two things that intrigue me are 1) a space for writing things somewhere between tweets and blog posts, and 2) who is on there -- I feel like I've recreated an academic community on here pretty quickly, but I miss policy folks who might be over there.

I doubt I'll move, but I'm interested in what others' experiences have been so far.

@epopp I joined was initially underwhelmed. About half my timeline were reposted (reblogged/retweeted/whatever) posts from that game theory guy Seth Abrahamson, and there wasn't a way to block someone. But it does look like there's more variety now.
@epopp What I've missed and have had to go back to Twitter for is live-tweeted events (like Zelenskyy's speech the other night or the Lake trial).
@robertstewart ugh, I can't imagine something much worse than that. But yes, the news/live-event aspect is harder to get here.
