@djosher @drewharwell I think there's an oversupply of better candidates, it's just that any GOP candidate who isn' t Trump is going to lose 30% of the GOP vote to the bugfuck-insane wing of the party.

You can't win election losing 30% support of your party's electoral base. If the country is evenly divided (Dem vs GOP) a non-Trump candidate is immediately behind by 30 points. 15 points if they just don't show up at the polls.
