@charlotteclymer the protesters weren't entirely wrong. It is indeed the darkest day for #terfs . Because now all of England will be watching for their promised doomsday scenarios, and seeing none of it materialise in Scotland.
They've been loudly declaring this will harm women for years. When it doesn't happen, that could be a death knell for the whole hateful movement. I don't think most terfs will stop terfing, they are too enclosed. But their political power is dead now.

@andrew_kggins @charlotteclymer i expect the degree of protest and mass revolt that would unleash is far beyond anything Westminster can imagine. Even people who are neutral about the issue, and even some who oppose the bill would protest.
The Scottish absolutely hate being told what to do by the English and such a blatant power grab would make Edinburgh look like Paris during one of their regular mass protests.
@metalpoetnl @charlotteclymer indeed could be, but Westminster possesses a level of arrogance and ignorance that I frankly don't think anything is beyond them.
@andrew_kggins @charlotteclymer oh I agree, I'm definitely not thinking Sunak wouldn't do it. I just think he may be completely underestimating the consequences.
