ChatGPT doing translation blew my mind. I posted a job ad in Polish, for various reasons, and used machine translation to help draft it. Asking #ChatGPT “translate the following job ad to Polish” gave very similar results to Google Translate, but “translate the following job ad to Polish. Use language that will appeal to women who have had IVF” gave VERY DIFFERENT RESULTS. Not just changes in grammatical gender but significantly restructured text. You can’t get that out of Google Translate.
