Relieved the Scottish parliament passed the new Gender Reform Bill to allow easier and less medicalised/gatekeepered birth certificate amendment for trans people.

7 years this has been debated, re-debated and hate whipped up against trans people in the process.

Even this vote had several MSPs trying to wreck it or the bill itself. Transphobia is a hell of a drug to some people!

From what I could see the transphobes tried to cheat the public-gallery space bookings (only about 10-20 of them turned up - many seats were empty), harassed security outside Holyrood, several transphobes had to be evicted for abusive behaviour including flashing genitals (a fake merkin), multiple instances of hissing at and fabricating allegations against trans people and harassing a cis woman in the loos (the trans women/supporters went to the loo en masse to mitigate this).

The merkin-flasher does vagina comedy, which I bet is transphobic vileness. The difference between a Vagina Comedy Show and Holyrood is that the comedy audience consented to it.

Witnesses to the flashing didn't realise it was fake pubes for a while. Either way, it was non-consensual and very abusive triggering behaviour. Cis women are not magically always-nice and this demonstrates that. So much for supporting abuse survivors eh?

Various Conservative and Scottish Labour MSPs tried to delay and fillibuster the bill. At one point the scottish Tories tried to claim the lengthy debate was bad for disabled people, parents relying on childcare and the time better spent on climate debates... They were the ones CAUSING the delay. How dare they use marginalised people they don't care about normally as tokens in their WhatAboutery. Not in my disabled name!
